PROVIDING CONVENIENT PAYMENT CHANNELS FOR THE TAXPAYING PUBLIC. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) officially launched its partnership with digital financial services leader Maya to allow individual taxpayers to pay taxes on time and wherever they are using the Maya app. Soon, taxpayers can also pay through the BIR website using their mobile number linked to their Maya account via Pay with Maya as well as any credit, debit, and prepaid cards. With tax-filing season just around the corner, digital financial services leader Maya is offering Filipinos a new and hassle-free way to pay their taxes using the Maya app and soon also using the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) website.
By going to the Bills Pay section of the Maya app, individual taxpayers can skip the line and pay their taxes anywhere using only their mobile phones anytime, 24/7.
Soon, Maya will also be enabling the agency with a capability to accept payments from Maya users using only their mobile numbers through the BIR website, as well as a facility to allow Filipinos to pay taxes using any credit, debit, or prepaid card.
“We are happy to offer Maya as a new payment channel where individual Filipino taxpayers can easily remit their taxes, no matter where they are in the country,” said BIR Commissioner Caesar Dulay.
“We are proud to be enabling the BIR with new options for card and wallet payments through Maya. As more Filipinos go digital, the BIR is opening up secure, convenient, and reliable options to the tax-paying public. Now, it’s easier than ever to pay your taxes using only your mobile phone with the help of Maya,” said Orlando Vea, Founder and CEO of Maya.
